Mpow 071 USB Headset Review (Wired)
Sorry for delaying this post since I wanted to use the headset for a longer time to give a better review 😉 .
I was hunting for a new pair of headsets since my 2-year-old Logitech headset is heading to the path of retirement. With the other speaker busted, I knew it would take a matter of time before it would stop working. I was looking through the list of the best headsets one can use for call conferences when I chanced through this pair of headset that is under the “cheapest” category.
I went through its reviews and once I saw the other details, I immediately knew it was love at first sight <3. Lol, no I thought it might be a good replacement. Its reviews were pretty amazing that a lot of users rated it 5 stars.
It costs around $22 in Amazon but they don’t deliver in the PH 😦 . So I bought this pair of MPOW headsets headsets in Galleon.ph. and it costed me twice! Yes, twice the amount because of the shipping fee (kanu).
They offer four different colors in the Amazon website; black, medium blue, white and light silver. I got the medium blue one.

Err, really LBC? Real Nice handling of product there. Real professional handling! Sc*mbags. Luckily, the headset got double wrapped;one on the box and another on the headset itself.
Aesthetics
Under sunlight the headset looks vivid and eye catchy. It doesn’t look like the muted navy blue on the website picture.
Below is what the color looks like under flourescent light. It closely resembles the color on the website more on this picture. However, the real color looks more like peacock blue rather than navy blue in the eye. Banana for comparison.
Functions:
Handy the buttons consist of: microphone mute, volume up, volume down, and speaker mute. The mute button can be useful when you don’t want the other party to hear you and speaker mute when you want to mute the speakers.
You can use it on your phone too on a call and as secondary headphones. The audio jack can be removed from the sound card but I would advise using the entire cord with the sound card to optimize call quality on a computer.
I have used this headset for more than a month and I never gotten any complains about static when I have classes online. I seldom hear static on my student’s side too if they use a good pair of headset and their network is stable. I seldom put it over my head and just let it hang from my neck since they are a bit tight. I have a small head and face so don’t buy this when you think you have a big head XD because it can be a bit tight.
SUMMARY:
Pros:
✓ Soft cushion that muffle sounds outside
✓ Handy mute and volume buttons
✓  It has almost no noticeable static noise as compared to the Logitech H340 USB Headset
✓You can use it on phone calls as well and you would sound really clear
✓ The cord is long it allows you mobility for 2-3 meters
Cons
X It costs twice it’s value here in the Phil. because you need to buy it overseas
X It can heat your ears since it creates a bit of vacuum due to the soft pads
X It’s a bight tight so it will hurt your ears even with the soft pads for long hours of usage

–Personally, it was a reliable headset with less noise than the cheapest Logitech headset you can find out there.
New Edit:Â Hello guys, it was 2 years since I wrote this review. My MPOW Headset was broken when I dropped it one meter high so minus points on that one. It’s not the sturdiest headset you can find out there. I got a new set of affordable and efficient gaming headset I use for my online classes. I paired it with the MPOW sound card and it is immaculately working well!
